The local residents that live on the island were expecting and looking forward to meet regatta. There are around thirty people living on the island and an event like this simply cannot go unnoticed of course brining some profits along with it. Closer to midnight, the vessels were brought to the berth of a welcoming and cozy marina.
The bottom relief that is in close proximity to the dock line appeared to be rather rugged with numerous sandbank. This small inconvenience made berthing somewhat challenging, but thanks to the illumination of the skyglow that significantly helped to make the procedure much quicker and smoother. A Swedish harbor master offered his help by moving on a bicycle around the harbor and giving directions for the best course of action in given circumstances. That is when in one of those moments, the bicycle’s wheel ran against a bitt and the harbor master continued his way flying over the handlebar and splashing into the water. A split second later, the bicycle came crashing down and they both disappeared in the depth of the sea. The witnesses of this incident held their breath thinking what would happen next when finally familiar features started to appear above the water. As soon as “Man overboard!” command was given, a few Russian yachtmen started running towards the place of accident to offer their help. It took just a few moments, to provide the master with all the necessary assistance and soon he was able to find himself on the harbor again as if nothing had happened. The “rescuers” made a careful examination and from the first looks of things, there were absolutely no injuries or even minor scratches. Everything was back to normal - a soaked Swede was smiling and happily waving to those around him. A few minutes later, the Russian yachtsmen brought a couple of boat-hooks in order to pull the bicycle out of the water. This story, at fist not looking so promising, happed to turn out as nothing serious at all – just one of those many moments that puts smiles on faces when you recollect it in a company of old good friends. It took a few more minutes to make the final arrangements and when that was finally taken care of, everybody headed to the local restaurant that has been long waiting the “Russian assault force”
